Paintings Framed

What can I use to make some cheap picture/paintings frames?
I have some fairly large paintings I want to hang, but none of them have frames. Various sizes. What kind of cheap material could I use to make my own frames?
Dollar store frames won’t work. They’re too small. Thanks.
At Lowe’s or Home Depot, they sell white cedar fence pickets. These are perfect for making picture frames. Here, the 3 inch wide by 5 foot pickets sell for about .79 cents each. Obviously there are multitudes of material that you could miter cut and make frames out of, but the least expensive and best looking (rustic) are what I just mentioned.
